InstaCars #3 – @tjs36

There are at least 2 main paths a petrol head can go down on; the path that leads onto a race track or a path that doesn’t. Tjeu, the man behind the Instagram and Youtube channel called “TJs36” definitely went down the racing path. And before writing this, we watched a handful of his Youtube videos and let me tell you this guy is not joking around. The BMW E36 he is building into his perfect track tool is nothing short of amazing (as is his driving) and based upon his plans, it’s only going to become better. We don’t want to spoil his interview answers but we could not agree more with Tjeu on the fact that very few cars give such good feedback from the road to the driver. The BMW E36 3-series was one of the last cars that were more or less mechanical and it makes them such a good and a fairly inexpensive choice for a track orientated car today. We are glad that Tjeu took the time to answer our 10 questions, so here they are.

1.Tell us about yourself!

I’m Tjeu from The Netherlands and I run an online business.

2. How did you get into cars?

What mainly got me into cars was video games. Need for speed underground was my first car game and it stuck with me.

3. What car (or cars) do you own and drive at the moment?

I drive a BMW E36 323i Coupe (Ringtool).

4. What modifications did you do to your car, if any?

Not enough yet haha

  • GT front lip
  • Recaro bucket seats
  • Rollcage
  • AP Coilovers
  • OMP Steering wheel
  • BBS RC304 wheels
  • Simota air intake
  • M3 Brakes
  • M50 intake (Coming soon)
  • LTW Spoiler (Coming soon)

5. Which is your favorite car manufacturer and why?

BMW, nothing feels the same in terms of driver feedback as an (Old) BMW. Also, I really like Porsches GT3’s especially but never driven one.

6. What are some other automotive brands you love?

Recaro (Best bucket seat) BBS (Beautiful motorsport wheels)

7. What are your future plans for the car you drive right now?

So I am planning on engine swapping it in the future (S54B32) but that will take some time. I first want to do a lot more laps on the ring with the current setup as it’s plenty fast and it’s not the power that’s limiting my lap time but my ability to drive.

8. What is your dream car and how would you fill up your dream garage?

Porsche GT3RS with Manthey racing package, BMW E92 M3 Schirmer (V8 GT), E36 with S54.

9. Tell us where people can find you?

You can find me on Instagram @TJS36 and on my Youtube channel where I document my journey with the e36

10. What is your advice to young guys just entering the car scene?

Just have fun, it’s not a competition. Build the car you like and respect other builds
